Momma, he ain't full

Have you ever went over a friend’s house to eat and the cereal just ain’t no good? I mean the flakes are soggy, the pops are mushed and the O’s taste like wood? So you try to play it off like you think you can by sayin’ that you’re full, and then your friend says, ‘Momma, he’s just being polite, he [...]

Kudos, Kashi. Now you're going to hell.

If you are like me, when someone mentions the Cap’n, there is an immediate air of reverence added to the conversation. In fact, like most people, I have stirring conversations about breakfast cereal nearly every day in every imaginable place, but it takes some a strong set of Crunch Berries to ever invoke the name [...]

So General Mills has declared a War on Sugar. http://www.upi.com/Health_News/2009/12/09/General-Mills-lowers-sugar-in-kids-cereal/UPI-61971260395540/ In responding to the glucose overload of the average American child, it is slightly ironic considering they will be fighting an enemy they created.         Acts of cereal vandalism, while rare, can cause long term distress and should be avoided at all costs. Mixed at a ratio of 50/50, the Cocoa Puffs and Kix double accomplished several things for my obsession with flavor, health and cereal.

This year, I am thankful to the good folks at Yale University’s Rudd Center for Food Policy & Obesity. These ivy league peeps have full-on kernal knowledge of cereal.

There’s little doubt that Shredded Wheat, in its various iterations, has been the topic of many intense debates among you and your friends. There’s the plain jane biscuits, without frosting or flavoring, bite-sizing or cute face drawn on. That kind, while I kill my fair share, makes you feel so crunchy, it even comes in [...]

For any of these reasons, a cereal conquistador, will seek to mix. Whether it’s two boxes (a double), three (a triple), or even four (a massacre), you will quickly find that mixing cereals together opens up a new universe of enjoyment. It is the act of mixing that separates a regular nosher from master of grain.

While it may be difficult, I ask you not to judge me. Know that when you see the pictures and hear my stories, these cereals have become part of me. They were not consumed in vain. I am Cereal Killa.
